Getting Started with SAPGUI using eToken on a Mac

General Information:

eToken Access for Macintosh requires:

  • Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
  • Java Development Kit (JDK)
  • SAPGUI for Java software installed
  • Safenet Authentication Client installed
  • CISCO Anyconnect VPN installed
  • eToken “connections” to the various AMS “instances” (AMS, RPT, QNA etc)

Detailed instructions:

  1. Prepare the mac for installation by downloading the latest Java runtime and development (both required)
  2. Download the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
  3. Download the latest Java Development Kit (JDK)
  4. Download the SAPGUI for Java software
  5. Extract the ZIP file and run the PlatinumGUI installer.
  6. Download and install the Safenet Authentication client and CISCO Anyconnect VPN
  7. Launch SAPGUI (Go>>Applications>>SAP Clients>>SAPGUI>>SAPGUI)
  8. In the SAP GUI for Java window that opens, if there are no connections listed, Click the New icon (a page with a + at the top right) and select Advances and check off Expert mode and create the following connections:
  9. Description: AMS eToken
  10. Conn=/H/
  11. Description: RPT eToken
  12. Conn=/H/
