Dear colleagues,  

Microsoft has announced the retirement of legacy policies for managing Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) in Entra ID. To prepare for this change, we are migrating our MFA and SSPR policy settings to the new Authentication Methods Policy in Microsoft Entra ID. 

This migration will help ensure continued security, compliance, and support for authentication management across the university. 

Scheduled Update: 

• • Date: Tuesday, September 30, 2025 

• • Scope: This change will apply only to the Production and Alumni tenants 

• • Time: 8:00 p.m. EDT 

• • Expected Impact: No user impact anticipated
