Re: Microsoft Project for the Web Transitioning to Planner

Dear colleagues,

Microsoft is transitioning users from Project for the web to a new unified Planner experience by August 2025. This updated Planner will combine features from Project, To Do, and Planner into a single work management platform, with AI-powered tools like Copilot, support for Goals, Sprints, and advanced task tracking (premium features will require a proper paid license plan).

Key benefits include:

    • No migration required — existing data and licenses remain intact.
    • Integrated Teams experience — users will need to update pinned tabs.
    • Some legacy features deprecated, like Roadmaps and .mpp imports, with alternatives provided.
