Re: Microsoft Teams interface updates. App bar simplification and default threaded channels
Dear colleagues,
Microsoft is introducing two user interface updates in Microsoft Teams to improve navigation and conversation organization.
These changes are rolling out automatically and do not require administrative action.
What is changing
-
- Simplified Teams app bar
The Teams app bar on desktop (Windows and macOS) will display fewer items by default.
Overflow apps will move to a “View more apps” menu.
Users can show or hide the app bar to create more workspace. - Default threaded layout for first channel in new teams
For newly created teams, the first channel will default to a threaded (conversation) layout instead of Posts.
This aligns with the default behaviour of new channels and supports clearer discussions.
