Re: Premium Licensing Required for SQL Server Connector in Power Platform

Dear colleagues,

We would like to inform you regarding the current licensing requirements for using the SQL Server connector in Microsoft Power Platform tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate.

SQL Connector Licensing

The SQL Server connector is classified as a premium connector, which means specific licensing is required to use it in your apps and workflows.

Licensing Requirements

To use the SQL Server connector:

    • You need a Power Apps Premium or Power Automate Premium license.
    • If a Power Automate flow is triggered directly from a Power App, the Power Apps Premium license covers the premium connector usage.
    • For standalone or automated flows (e.g., scheduled flows or those triggered by non–Power Apps events), a separate Power Automate Premium license is required.
    • All users interacting with a Power App that uses premium connectors must also have a premium license.
