Information Technology Services (ITS) is pleased to announce the launch of UTsend, an enhanced file transfer service for sharing content with internal and external collaborators.

To support the launch, ITS’s Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration partnered with the Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture and Information Security to test specific HR tasks in a small-scale pilot. The result is a user-friendly, accessible solution that will serve U of T’s secure file transfer needs well into the future.

UTsend provides U of T faculty, librarians and staff with a secure alternative to email for sending and receiving confidential information. It also supports the transfer of large files – up to 29 GB per message. Files are hosted for 14 days and are encrypted, authenticated and virus-scanned to ensure maximum security.

Since this service offers short-term storage, users are encouraged to keep a downloaded copy of any files transmitted for their records in an appropriate location.
