Re: Microsoft Edge is retiring two Windows 10 security features
Dear colleagues,
Microsoft is retiring support for Windows Information Protection (WIP) and Microsoft Defender Application Guard (MDAG) in Microsoft Edge.
These are administrator-enabled security features used on some Windows 10 devices. If your unit does not use WIP or MDAG, no action is required. Microsoft confirms that both features are off by default. Microsoft Learn
Action required
By September 24, 2026:
Local IT teams using WIP or MDAG should identify affected Windows 10 devices and plan to move to supported security and data protection options.
Microsoft recommends Microsoft Purview and Intune data protection options as replacements for WIP, and built-in Microsoft Edge for Business security capabilities for MDAG scenarios. Microsoft Learn
These features are already unavailable in Windows 11, version 24H2. Microsoft Learn

Local IT teams: Please review your Windows 10 environment and take action if WIP or MDAG is currently enabled.
