Hi everyone,

Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration (EASI) would like to update you on the latest major production releases and updates for the NGSIS program and student systems. The following are major changes from December 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024:

Curriculum Management (CM) (December 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024)
Curriculum Management allows divisions to propose, change and retire courses and programs using divisional specific governance processes. Graduate courses were uploaded and updating course descriptions is in progress.

Student Advising Service (SAS) (December 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024)
The Student Advising Service team completed two releases (1.2 and 1.3) as well as the Salesforce spring 2024 update. Key highlights include the ROSI API real-time student record view, enhancements to the Notes functionality, and enhancements to the Reports and Dashboard module.

Student Information Systems (SIS) Core Systems (December 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024)
The administrative core systems, including ROSI, ROSI Express, and OASIS, completed the following major releases:

  • 2023 Tax Year Updates and Submission were completed and submitted to the CRA for the 2023 tax year.
  • Correspondence letter updates that included a new Minimum Degree Fee enhancement that supports SGS offer letters, as well as annual content updates.
  • Adjustment of ROSI Invoice screens to remove non-function buttons.
  • A new ROSI Express Class Lists report was created in Power BI that combines all the current variations of the existing Class List reports to provide a more efficient and improved experience for administrators.

The student core systems, including ACORN and Degree Explorer completed the following major releases:

  • Census data updates to support enhanced reporting were completed in ACORN.
  • An enhancement was made to the absence declaration functionality in ACORN to support summer sub-sessions.
  • Primary Plan enhancements were made in Degree Explorer to support the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering.

Accessibility Services Platform (AS) (December 1, 2023 – March 31, 2024)
Accessibility Services, under Student Life, strives to provide equitable access to education for University of Toronto students with disabilities, health conditions, and diverse ways of learning. They collaborate with the University community to identify and remove barriers for students, and foster inclusion within learning environments. AS is looking for a new platform to enhance and modernize its operations. The team has concluded the discovery and analysis phase and has identified two potential platforms that are currently being reviewed and tested.

Accommodated Testing Services (ATS) (December 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024)
Accommodated Testing Services coordinates on-campus assessment accommodations for students with disabilities who are enrolled in in-class courses offered on the St. George Campus. ATS has released the following enhancements:

  • Ability for administrative staff to delete test definitions.
  • Introduced functionality to allow administrative staff to cancel and undo the cancellation of student bookings.
  • General improvements to business logic and error messaging.
  • Additional technical housekeeping tasks completed to improve the foundation and structure of the system in view of future enhancements.

Course Information System (CIS) (December 1, 2023)
The Course Information System streamlines syllabi and exams processes for instructors and administrators. CIS has made the following releases: 

  • FAS Syllabus Builder Module
    Transitioned the Faculty of Arts & Science to the new Syllabus Builder module in CIS.
