Re: EASI Go Prod AMS Updates – July 1 to October 31, 2022

Hi everyone,

Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration (EASI) would like to update you on the latest major production releases and updates for U of T’s Administrative Management Systems.

The following are major changes from July 1 to October 31, 2022:

Financial Information System

Electronic Funds Transfer Pilot Project  (August 11)
On August 11, 2022, the University of Toronto launched the first phase of a pilot project for Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment. This project vetted thirty-three Canadian currency vendors to transition from payments by paper cheque to direct deposit, offering increased payment speed and transparency while reducing processing costs for the University and vendors. Vendors were selected for the EFT pilot due to their transaction volume and spend and were onboarded through the Enterprise Service Centre. The first phase of the pilot project serves as a foundation for onboarding additional vendors.

Enterprise Shared Services

Legacy Authentication Sunset for M365 (October 26)
As part of an ongoing effort to improve data security in Exchange Online, Microsoft has announced it will begin to permanently disable legacy authentication for all Microsoft 365 tenants. All University email users will need to use mobile and desktop email clients that support modern authentication. Alternately, users can continue to access U of T email via mail.utoronto.ca. Human Resources Information System

Kronos (July 1 to October 31)
Kronos, a convenient, cloud-based time and attendance system, eliminates the use of paper timesheets and the need to forecast employee hours through online approval processes. Following are the most recent updates:

  • EASI has implemented Kronos Timekeeper within the following areas: Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, Division of Student Life, John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design, and School of Continuing Studies.
  • The Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education has now implemented Work Study in Kronos Timekeeper.
