Hi everyone,

Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration (EASI) would like to update you on the latest major production releases and updates for Student Information Systems. The following are major changes from December 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025:

Accommodated Testing Services (ATS)
Accommodated Testing Services coordinates on-campus assessment accommodations for students with disabilities who are enrolled in in-class courses offered on the St. George Campus. ATS has released the following enhancements:

  • Updated the Course Information System (CIS) Submission details page to track and display submission changes post-ATS review, ensuring timely and accurate accommodation test arrangements.
  • Implemented an Activity Log to track key events by ATS staff and instructors in CIS, improving service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Migrated the NO-SQL database to MongoDB Atlas, enhancing scalability, reliability and performance for future business needs.
  • Introduced the ability to update the time and date of ATS test definitions and have these updates sync between integrated systems, saving ATS staff from switching context to make updates.
  • Added ATS Review and CIS Submission Workflow Statuses to the test definition dashboard to speed up ATS staff workflows.

Course Information System (CIS)
The Course Information System streamlines syllabi and exams processes for instructors and administrators. The following improvements have been introduced:

  • The initial release of the Reporting Hub module creates a centralized data access point, empowering faculty and staff with critical insights into student and course data. This release includes reports that help inform the streamlining of operations for divisional administrative staff.
  • Generated and provisioned Syllabus Builder and Final Exam documents for the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering to streamline the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board audit process, ensuring compliance and enhancing operational efficiency.

Curriculum Publisher (CP)
The Curriculum Publisher is an online application that allows divisions and departments to publish course and program offerings. Between December 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025, a divisional calendar was published for the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering.

Student Information Systems (SIS) Core Systems
The administrative and student core systems, including ROSI, ROSI Express, OASIS, ACORN, and Degree Explorer completed the following major releases:

  • Completed annual updates to the School of Graduate Studies correspondence letters to support the upcoming admissions cycle.
  • Completed and submitted T4A and T2202 tax records to comply with Canada Revenue Agency standards.
  • Completed SIN changes in ROSI and ROSI Batch to comply with Level 4 data classification.
  • Created a batch load for Advanced Standing courses and subjects, improving administrative efficiencies by allowing staff to update records in batch instead of individually.
  • Completed additional extracts to support U of T Mississauga’s use of Symplicity products.
  • Completed updates to support the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering’s Primary Plan functionality, a process where students outline their course plans for the upcoming academic year, on Degree Explorer in preparation for the upcoming term.
  • Completed and released the first two milestones for the ACORN Profile and Settings project that includes a redesigned and more efficient address, phone number, SIN, and email maintenance areas.

Student Advising Service
The Student Advising Service team completed the 1.6 release, as well as the Salesforce winter 2025 and spring 2025 updates. Key highlights include user interface changes that ensured data accuracy when students change their preferred name, user experience and process improvements, changes to the search results display, and improvements to the note-taking interface.

Timetable Builder (TTB)
The Timetable Builder application allows students to easily create and optimize their course schedules with a convenient, user-friendly and accessible user experience. Between December 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025, EASI worked with U of T Scarborough to decommission their local time tabling tool, which was used as a source for the course notes on Timetable Builder. The work included decommissioning the integration with the local application in favour of using OASIS with other divisions to increase efficiencies.

Transfer Credit Equivalencies (TCED)
Transfer Credit Equivalencies Database (TCED) helps undergraduate and prospective students discover how courses will transfer for degree credit at U of T. Between December 1, 2024, and February 28, 2025, four new divisions were onboarded to TCED. These divisions are the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education, the Faculty of Music, and the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design.
