Hi everyone,

Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration (EASI) would like to update you on the latest major production releases and updates for the NGSIS program and student systems. The following are major changes from April 1 to June 30, 2024:

Accommodated Testing Services (ATS)
Accommodated Testing Services coordinates on-campus assessment accommodations for students with disabilities who are enrolled in in-class courses offered on the St. George Campus. ATS has released the following enhancements:

  • Released a new feature that provides students with the ability to cancel their test and exam bookings from within ACORN.
  • Added functionality for an email notification to be sent to ATS staff to support their operations when a student cancels a booking within two days or less of an assessment.
  • Added a feedback link where users can fill out a survey to share their experience with the ATS application.

 Course Information System (CIS)
The Course Information System streamlines syllabi and exams processes for instructors and administrators. CIS has made the following releases:

  • Performed a database upgrade/migration to improve reliability and scalability, and prepare for future data reporting needs.
  • Added a feedback link where users can fill out a survey to share their experience with the CIS application.

 Curriculum Publisher (CP)
The Curriculum Publisher is an online application that allows divisions and departments to publish course and program offerings. Between April 1 and June 30, divisional calendars were published for the following areas: the University of Toronto Mississauga, the Faculty of Arts & Science, the University of Toronto Scarborough, and the Faculty of Music.

eMarks (May 24, 2024)
eMarks enables the online submission of course grades and amended grades. It also allows instructors and departments to track any changes made to a student’s grade. On May 24, EASI fixed an issue that was causing application user sessions to occasionally expire prematurely.

Student Advising Service (SAS)
The Student Advising Service team completed two releases (1.4 and 1.5), as well as the Salesforce summer 2024 update. Key highlights include user interface changes that removed non-necessary fields and added two new fields (department and division). Additional user interface changes were made to support the upcoming onboarding of the Faculty of Music, the Faculty of Information, and the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design. The releases also included bug fixes related to security and access, and notes.

Student Information Systems (SIS) Core Systems
The administrative core systems, including ROSI, ROSI Express, and OASIS, completed the following major releases:

  • Performed OUAC enhancements to retain local copies of outgoing data for transcripts and decisions.
  • Supported the preparation and execution of summer fees assessment and fiscal year end.
  • Prepared and submitted T2202 tax form deltas to the CRA for the past five years.

The student core systems, including ACORN and Degree Explorer, completed the following major releases:

  • Enhanced the display of deferred exams within a student’s exam schedule in ACORN.
  • Enhanced the display of a student’s academic standing on their student record in Degree Explorer.
  • Enhanced degree completion options to support School of Graduate Studies in Degree Explorer.

SIS Website and Enterprise Service Centre (ESC) Service Commitments

Over the winter and spring, the Client Engagement team has updated and restructured the SIS website to make it more helpful to users. The changes include:

  • Updating all ROSI user guides and manual (PDF versions).
  • Creating a more logical grouping of learning and support topics.
  • Providing clear guidelines on working with confidential data, including tools for masking confidential data in support tickets and presentations.

The support team across SIS has also articulated our service commitment with respect to support requests in the Enterprise Service Centre. It lays out our commitment to respond to all tickets within 24 hours and provides timelines for resolution. The service commitment and instructions for ESC submissions can be found on our Help & Support page.

Transfer Credit Equivalencies (June 24)
The Transfer Credit Equivalencies project launched on June 24 for the University of Toronto Scarborough, the University of Toronto Mississauga, and the Faculty of Arts & Science. This platform helps undergraduate and prospective students discover how courses will transfer for degree credit at U of T. The launch includes the administrative application within OASIS and the revamped student application, Transfer Explorer. These applications will improve the way that transfer credit equivalencies data is managed and presented to staff, students and prospective students. They also offer a more modern user experience, enhanced search capabilities, and streamlined processes.

Sincerely,
Student Information Systems
