Help guide the future of CIS: Retrieving Data Questionnaire
Date: July 20, 2020

Re: Help guide the future of CIS: Retrieving Data Questionnaire
Dear CIS Admin Users,
One of our goals for 2020 is to begin developing the functionality of retrieving data from closed sessions in CIS. The purpose of this feature is to allow Admin Users to access previous sessional data in CIS when necessary and eliminate the need for storing and managing copies of information offline.
Prior to starting development, we would like to receive your input on this new capability. To facilitate this, we have created a Questionnaire to help us better understand your desired requirements; the goal is to identify features and clarify their usage.
You may open the Questionnaire in your web browser by clicking the link below:
If you would like to participate and provide your feedback, we ask you to do so by July 31st 2020, as after this date, we will be closing the questionnaire and begin analyzing responses.
Your input and contribution are valuable to us as we continue to build the Course Information System.
Thank you very much for your time!

Microsoft Bookings now available
Good afternoon,
EASI is pleased to let you know that Microsoft Bookings is now available to all full-time staff and faculty members.
More information on training opportunities, accessing and using Bookings can be found below and on the Connect+Learn and EASI Office 365 pages.
——————————————-
About Bookings
Microsoft Bookings is a scheduling tool that allows users to keep track of appointments and clients. With Bookings, clients can easily access the user’s booking page at any time to find the appointment slot and service that they need. For example, an instructor at U of T might use Bookings to schedule office hours. Alternatively, support staff could use Bookings to manage service request appointments. Once an appointment is booked, the user’s client will receive a confirmation email and calendar invitation.
——————————————–
Accessing Bookings
Bookings is available to all full-time staff and faculty members. To access Bookings, go to mail.utoronto.ca and click on the waffle in the top left-hand corner. Click on All apps and select Bookings. If you are accessing the Bookings page for the first time, you may see an onboarding screen.

Please do NOT process Change of POSt (CHOP) on Thursday, July 16
To: ROSI Users
From: Student Information Systems
Re: Please do NOT process Change of POSt (CHOP) on Thursday, July 16
Dear ROSI users,
*** This e-mail is sent on behalf of Student Accounts ***
Please do NOT process any batch or online Change of POSt (CHOP) on Thursday, July 16
If you process a CHOP for a student during this period, the student’s fees will be calculated incorrectly and in a manner that will be very difficult and time-consuming for Student Accounts to correct.
The student’s ACORN Financial Account may be blocked while the corrections are made.
If you must process a CHOP for a student during this period, then you must trigger fees assessment by viewing the student’s invoice, and forward an email message to bonnie.vincze@utoronto.ca.
Student Accounts is testing the Fall 2020-Winter 2021 session fees assessment process during this period, and if the testing is successful, fees assessment will be turned ‘ON’ at 5pm on Friday, July 17 and fees will be available to view on ROSI on Monday, July 20.
Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Student Information Systems
Retiring Teams support for devices running on Android 4.4
Microsoft will be retiring the Teams support on Android 4.4. Instead they recommend that users upgrade to newer Android builds.
The exiting Teams build 1.0.0.2020050801 will continue to work on Android 4.4 for the next 2 months but there won’t be any app updates going forward.
Instead of using Android 4.4, we recommend updating the Android OS version to 5 and above.

External Email Banner Project
Date: July 9, 2020
To: ROSI Users
From: Student Information Systems
Re: External Email Banner Project
Dear Colleagues,
Since March 2020, Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration and Information Security have been evaluating the introduction of external email notification banners for UTmail+ (Office 365). This banner will help to protect U of T from hackers and phishing attempts, and will also protect our faculty, staff and students’ valuable information.
These banners will appear on all emails originating from outside the University of Toronto. They will serve as a warning for faculty, staff and students to be cautious when opening external emails and attachments that could be potentially malicious.
This is how the banner will appear at the top of your email:
We are also working with the U of T community to ensure that departmental emails do not get marked as external. If you are using MailChimp, please set up Sender Authentication for your MailChimp account using the steps below. Authentication is a sender identification tool that protects email senders and their recipients from spam, forgery, and phishing. Additionally, it will help improve delivery rates for external recipients. If you are using any other external mail system, please provide the name of the product and the email account to its-pilot-feedback@utoronto.ca.
MailChimp Instructions:
- Login to your MailChimp account(s) and navigate to the Domains page in your Account Settings.
- Please ensure that the domain is Verified. You should see the word ‘Verified’ next to the domain name.
- Next to the verified email domain you want to work with click Authenticate.
- Click Authenticate Domain.
Once we’ve heard back from the community, we will be moving forward with this project by the end of this summer.
If you have any questions, please contact its-pilot-feedback@utoronto.ca.
Sincerely,
Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration (EASI)
